Gwendolyn Ann Thompson, 97, of San Antonio, passed away Friday August 12, 2022. Services will be held at 2:00pm Friday, August 19, 2022 at Llano Cemetery with Dr. Hal Rogers officiating. The family will receive friends at Griggs Schooler Gordon, 5400 Bell, Thursday, August 18, 2022 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm.
She was born January 31, 1925 in Claude, TX to James Cecil and Allie Mae Wilshire. She worked for the Department of Interior for many years as a secretary. She was also a member of The Order of the Eastern Star for over 50 years.
She is survived by a son; Donald Thompson and wife Judy, of Amarillo; a daughter, Cheryl Stanley and husband Lonny, of San Antonio; five grandchildren, Jarrett Thompson, Jessica Evans and husband Paul, all of Amarillo, Chad Stanley, Catrina Clemens and husband Brent, all of Bedford, and Logan Stanley, of San Antonio; and six great-grandchildren with one on the way.
She was preceded in death by her husband and three brothers.
The family would like to thank the Guiding Light Hospice team of San Antonio for the loving care of Gwendolyn while she was in hospice care.
