

Hannah Mary Leard, 84 of Amarillo passed away September 20, 2016. Rosary will be said at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, September 22, 2016 at Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel of Memories. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 23, 2016 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with Father Haider Quintero as celebrant. Arrangements are by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 I-40 East. Mass of Christian Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery East Mausoleum. Hannah was born November 11, 1931 in Corner Brook, Newfoundland Canada to Joseph and Margaret Barry. She was raised in Canada by her mother and her step-father, Michael Duffy. She married the love of her life, Charles “Chuck” Leard on St. Patrick’s Day, March 17, 1955 in Corner Brook. She and Chuck were founding members of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, having over 50 years of dedicated service to the church. They lived all over the world due to Chuck being the U.S. Air Force, and they also traveled the world after they both retired. Hannah loved to shop and loved spending time in the kitchen baking. Above all she was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend who will be forever missed. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother and two sisters. Hannah is survived by her husband, Charles “Chuck” Leard; daughters, Linda Leard McKinney and husband David of Overton, Texas and Cathy Brazille and husband Marshall of Amarillo; sons, Mike Leard and wife Jeannine and Charles Leard and wife Denise, both of Amarillo; sisters, Marie Flowers and husband Bill of Stephenville, Newfoundland Canada and Cora Gillam and husband George of Nova Scotia; also by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
