Hazel was born in Avery, Texas on May 24, 1918; she came to Amarillo in a covered wagon as a little girl. She worked as a bookkeeping supervisor for 10 years at First National Bank. She was an avid reader and loved playing games on her computer. Hazel loved spending time with her family and going fishing and bird-dogging in the mountains. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her.
She is preceded in death by a son; Carl Henly and first husband Clarence Henly, and second husband Joseph Knittel.
She is survived by three children; Bernice Barker and husband Sam, Jimmy Henly and wife Joyce all of Amarillo, and Billy Henly and wife Leeza of Dallas. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, 9 great-great grandchildren and 1 great-great-great grandchild.
