

She was born December 19, 1929 to Rankin and Clara French in Navarro County, TX. She married Glen Taylor on October 26, 1946. She wanted to be a mother more than anything, and after a few years God blessed her with four children. She was a wonderful mother. After her children were grown, she worked at various jobs until she retired from Furr’s Grocery Stores. Helen was never one to be idle. After she retired, she started volunteering at Paramount Baptist Church in the library, and the LEAF ministry, and helped count the Sunday offering. She also volunteered at the Northwest Texas Hospital gift shop until her health started failing. Helen’s husband Glen died in 1985 and she married her second husband David Steel in 1995. They did some traveling and enjoyed each other’s company until David passed away in 2007.
Helen went to join her loved ones in heaven. She will be with her son Glen Taylor, Jr. again and her grandson Danny Joe Taylor, who preceded her in death.
Helen will be missed her children, Gwen Womack and husband Ben, Deby Gibson , all of Amarillo, and Ronn Taylor and his wife Zane, of Tulia, and her two sisters, Joyce Melton, of Corsicana, TX and Janice Richards, of Odessa, TX. Helen is also survived by seven grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
