

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 4, 2014 at Amarillo’s 1st Family Church, 6101 S. Bell with Rev. T.C. Messer officiating.
Interment will be at Llano Cemetery by Griggs-Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 S. Bell.
Joe was born September 22, 1931 in Wolfe City to Clovis and Ethel Morris. The family moved to Amarillo in 1943 and Joe graduated from Amarillo High School in 1948. After graduation he attended Electrical College. He owned and operated two television repair shops in Amarillo and retired from TOX in 1988. In 1963 he married the love of his life, the former Rene Turner. Joe loved fishing, traveling in his motorhome, his dogs and was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. His life revolved around his kids, grandkids, great-grandkids and great-great grandkids. Joe was a wonderful father and grandfather who took great pride in providing for his family and will be deeply missed.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents.
Joe is survived by his wife, Rene Morris; 3 sons, Joe Morris, Jr. and wife Paula of Amarillo, Troy Hobbs Jr. and wife Celeste of Cleburne and Gary Hobbs of Amarillo; 2 daughters, Timi Jo Morris and friend Janet Marshall of Carrollton and Jeannie Butler and husband Gary of Amarillo; 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be sent to Harvest Time Church, 409 S Cleveland, Amarillo, Texas.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, November 3, 2014 at the funeral home.
