

Josephine was born February 24, 1932 in Clarendon, Texas to Cecil and Mamie Bowling Mills. She was the eldest of seven siblings. She graduated from Lelia Lake High School where she was salutatorian. She married James King in Clarendon, Texas, March 5, 1951. Josephine was known for being the homeroom Mom for all of her kids, even after going to work full time as a sales associate for Sears, where she worked for 20 years before retiring.
Survived by her husband of 60 years, James King, three children, Pam Burrier, Mike King & wife Lupita, Mona Yarbrough & husband Les, all of Amarillo. Ten grandchildren, Chris Burrier & wife Becky, Gary Burrier & wife Naomi, Josh Burrier, Dustin King & wife Shyla, David King & wife Heather of Austin, Robin King of San Marcos, and Angela King, Taylor Gustin, Michelle Yarbrough, and Koben Yarbrough. 9 Great-grandchildren, Christian Burrier, Andrew Burrier, Addison Burrier, Zachary Burrier, Makayla Reeves, Aiden King, Kelton King, Kolton King, and Brayden Burrier. She is survived by two brothers and two sisters, J.C. Mills & wife Melba of Amarillo, Texas and Wiley Mills of Holdenville, OK, and Ann Bradshaw & husband Doug of Benbrook, Texas, and Cindy Winn & husband Buddy of Amarillo. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews who loved her very much.
The family would like to express gratitude and love to special friend and caregiver Celina Granado.
She was preceded in death by a son, Michael Randell in 1951, a granddaughter, Johnna Michelle King in 1994, and two brothers Wesley Mills and Dale Mills.
