Katherine Caroline Welch

Katherine (Mimi) Welch went to meet her Lord and Savior on September 9, 2021. Katherine was surrounded by her loving family, including her husband Billy Welch of 74 years. Katherine was born in Paducah TX January 9, 1930 to Frank and Alice Vaughn. The family later relocated to Carlsbad, NM where she graduated from Carlsbad High School and met her future husband Billy Welch. They had three children – Caroline, Kathy and James and raised their family in Amarillo TX. They became members of South Lawn Baptist Church in 1957 and have been active members since then. Katherine led and worked with youth groups for many years. She had a lasting impact on them and still remained connected with many of them throughout the years. Katherine always enjoyed being with her family and usually had a warm meal and a cold glass of sweet ice tea waiting. She also had a passion for gardening, canning, cooking, and reading, and being with her beloved husband Billy.

Katherine is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, and two sisters.

She is survived by her husband, Billy Welch; her children Caroline Weir (Tony), Kathy Siebenhausen (Rick), and James Welch (Shannon); her grandchildren Jimmy Johnson, Brenda Fuller, Bobby Johnson, Sharon White, Michele Douglas, Michael Johnson, Jason Malone, Tiffany Braddy, Brian Welch, Scott Welch, and Carly Skjervem, Boston Ford, and Tyson Ford. Katherine is also survived by her 27 great-grandchildren along with her 7 great, great grandchildren.
