LaVerne Wade Harrison

Funeral Service will be 2:00 pm Thursday December 17, 2015 at Griggs Schooler Gordon Funeral Home Pioneer Chapel with Dr. Charles Jones officiating. Arrangements are by Griggs Schooler Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 Bell.

Burial will follow in Rowe Cemetery in Hedley Texas at 10:00am Friday December 18, 2015.

LaVerne was born in Hedley where she graduated from Hedley High School in 1940. She married Hoover Harrison in February of 1942 and the couple delivered a son in November of 1944. She spent her life taking care of her husband and son (for the first 20 years). She loved sewing and made almost all of her own clothes and some clothes for her family. She loved gardening and canning. She and Hoover had a garden every year of their married life of 63 years. But above all things, she loved her family. She lived out the last 6 years of her life with her son and daughter-n-law in Euless, TX. She was truly the virtuous woman of Proverbs 31:10-31.

LaVerne was preceded in death by husband, Herbert Hoover Harrison, her mother, Iola Wade, her father, Verney Wade and a brother, L.J. Wade.

LaVerne is survived by a son, Wade Herbert Harrison and wife Sue of Euless; a granddaughter, Derinda Harrison Barnes of Pensacola, Fl.; a grandson, Darren Wade Harrison and wife Marinda of Highland Village and a sister-in-law, Ellen Floyd Wade of Panhandle.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Second Baptist Church, Amarillo, Tx.
