Lavetta Susan Willingham

A Celebration of Life for Lavetta will be held on July 30th at 1pm at 7107 Pace St in Amarillo.

Lavetta was born May 11, 1942, in Canadian, TX to Charles & Corean Miller. She married the love of her life, Norman, in 1963. He passed away in May of 2016.

Lavetta was a cosmetologist for years and beautified many people from her home shop. She also worked at Levi Strauss, Weyerhaeuser, & Pantex.

Her favorite pastime was socializing- she never met a stranger. She was an avid bridge player, played bunko, and was a member of several art clubs. She loved camping, fishing, golf, and the Dallas Cowboys. She spent many hours at her favorite place “The Patio” looking out on the lake, visiting with whoever came by, & watching the sunset. Lavetta loved life. She always had a happy smile and hearty laugh. She was a hugger and always said, “Love ya.”

Lavetta was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother Charles “Buddy” Miller and nephew Randy Roark. She is survived by her sister Charlene Stiles and husband Dwayne of Fritch, TX, three Step Daughters: Cindy Morse and husband Steve of Midland, Candy Root and husband Greg of Amarillo, and Denise Oldham of Eugene, OR; many step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Lavetta’s three favorite words were “Can I help?” With that said, in lieu of flowers, please pay it forward with love to someone in need.
