Lesley L. Carr passed from this life on March 18, 2026 in Plainview, Texas. She was born on August 12, 1932 in Amarillo to Les and Inez Roberts. Sadly, by the time Lesley was twelve years old, she had lost both her parents. She was then raised by her loving aunt and uncle and her grandmother, and attended Amarillo High School.
Lesley later graduated from the cosmetology school in Pampa, Texas, and she worked as a hairdresser for several years. She was quite a talented artist, and had a passion for sketching in pencil and in charcoal drawings, and was gifted in oil painting. She enjoyed decorating her home and loved collecting antiques. To say she loved the color blue would be an understatement; everything in her life had to be blue. She even gifted others with pretty things in her choice of color: blue. She was blessed with great great grandchildren, and in turn honored her family with five living generations. Lesley married Carl Rodgers in October 1949, and to this union were born two children, Brenda and Bobby. In 1972 she married Donald Carr. She became a Christian in the 1990’s and faithfully attended the Church of Christ.
Lesley was preceded in death by her parents and her daughter Brenda.
Those remaining to cherish her memory are her son: Bobby Rodgers and wife Linda; two grandchildren: Michelle Maloney and husband Dave, Clint Rodgers and wife Cynthia; five great grandchildren: Haley, Kristin, Logan, Bradlie and Conrad; and three great great grandchildren: Blair, Viola and Beau.
She took pleasure in both seeing beauty and in capturing and interpreting with her artwork. She loved, and she will be missed.
