Lois P Dennis

Lois “Nanny” Dennis, 82 of Amarillo, passed away August 20, 2012. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 25, 2012 at Friendship Baptist Church, 2400 S. Arthur with Rev. Ronnie Tucker officiating. Burial will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery by Griggs-Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors. Lois was born September 1, 2012 in Childress to John and Rose Dover. She married LeRoy Dennis on July 16, 1948. Lois was a faithful member of Friendship Baptist Church for over 50 years. She was known as “Nanny” to most of her nieces and nephews. Lois loved hosting holiday dinners for the whole family. Lois was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; nephew, Robert Simonson; sisters, Doris Thompson, Jerry Rabe, Ruth Carson and Mae Robison; and a brother, Johnny Dover. Lois is survived by sisters, Betty Jo Cagle and Ruby Faust both of Amarillo, and Freda Rush of Lafayette, Louisiana; twin brother, Lewis Dover of Oklahoma; nieces, Betty Killingsworth, Sandra Otto and Sharon Bichsel all of Amarillo, Judy Oliver of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Linda Rabe of Denver, Susie Dover, Tammy Dover, Brenda Thompson, Lonnie Degeyter and Laura Reynolds of Lafayette, Louisiana; nephews, Charles Payne, Gary Robison and Charlie Bebout all of Amarillo, Roger Simonson of Arlington, John Thompson and Robert Thompson; also by many great-nieces and great-nephews, including special nephew, Cody Hosler; also by her beloved pet, Scooter.
