Loy was born May 23, 1923 at Elmer, OK to Jim and Elinor Burch. The family moved to Slide, TX when he was 3 years old, where he was raised. He graduated from Cooper High School in 1941. He served in the Army during WWII. He was married to Nana Hackleman on August 11, 1945. They were blessed with two daughters, 6 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren. Loy farmed for several years before moving to Amarillo in 1949. He worked for Union Carbide Corp for 32 years, retiring in 1980.
Loy was a long time member of Second Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters and 2 brothers.
He is survived by his wife, Nana Burch; sister Ruby Ramsey; two daughters: Gail Burgess and husband King and Jane Standley and husband, Rob.
Surviving also are 6 grandchildren: Heather Burgess and Shawn Tyson McBride and Marsha ;Ryan McBride and Sarah;Lauren Peeples;Tanner Standley and Elizabeth; Jillian Standley; 8 Greatgrandchildren- Audrey and Abigail Burgess;Kate and Elle Peeples;Colton and Jaxon McBride;Sawyer McBride;Boston Standley.
