Marie Price

Marie Price, 87 of Amarillo passed away May 15, 2014. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at Amarillo Baptist Church, 90 N. McMasters with Pastor David Veazey officiating. Interment will be at Llano Cemetery by Griggs-Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 S. Bell. Marie (Light) Price was the eighth child born to John S. and Lela Light in Altus, Oklahoma on October 24, 1926. She married Horace L. Price on July 18, 1942 in Clovis, New Mexico. She enjoyed traveling with her husband while he served in the Army Air Corps and the time they spent with the American Business Club. She was a member of Amarillo Baptist Church. Mrs. Price was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, two brothers, her husband, her son, Jimmy Lee Price, her son-in-law, Ronnie Barfield, and a great-great granddaughter, Lexus Bural. She is survived by her daughter, Patsy Barfied; daughter-in-law, Jessica Price; sons, Howard Price & wife, Denise; David Price & wife, Terry; eleven grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, six great great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Price requested that in lieu of flowers memorials be sent to the Amarillo Baptist Church.
