

Martha Ann Albritton, daughter of Edd Morris “Pappy” and Flora Sanders “Granny” was born on June 30, 1933 In Little Rock, Arkansas. She graduated from Little Rock Central High School with awards in creative writing. Martha loved to write, especially about family history. As a young girl, she loved to read and travel. And she loved her large family of eleven siblings very much.
At eighteen, she married Reverend James E. Albritton while he was attending seminary in Little Rock. Martha was a faithful pastor’s wife for the next thirty nine years. Reverend Albritton pastored churches in Arkansas and East Texas before he spent twenty-seven years at Journey Street Baptist Church of Amarillo. While in Amarillo, Martha worked for the chamber of Commerce and the Amarillo ISD at the speech and hearing center.
Upon her husband’s death, Martha began a career with the federal government with the IRS and the Justice Department. Upon retirement, Martha moved to Somerset Kentucky, where she attended First Baptist Church.
Her Golden Years were spent in Winter Haven and Kissimmee, Florida, where she enjoyed several cruises. These last years she was plagued by Alzheimer's disease .
On March 16, 2022 she was reunited with her husband and her ten siblings who went before. She now has a clear mind and a joyful heart.
Martha was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers (Edward, Bill, Richard, Ralph, and Ronnie), sisters (Alta, Anita, Toni, Margaret, and Sherry), and grandson Adam.
She is survived by three sons and their wives: Tim and Kayla Albritton of Poinciana, Florida, Rick and Janet Albritton of Gilmer, Texas, and Steve and Patricia Albritton of Science Hill, Kentucky. Five Grandchildren: Chandra Albritton, Jamie Jensen & husband Adam, Joe Albritton and wife Abby, Mark Albritton, and Jennifer Albritton. Seven Great Grandchildren: Ellie, Jake, & Jarrett Jensen and Katelyn, Calvert, Todd & Henry Albritton.
