Mrs. Kemp will lie in state on Sunday, September 01, 2019 from 12pm to 5pm, and Monday, September 02, 2019 from 9am to 3pm in the Memorial Park Funeral Home; 6969 E. Interstate 40 in Amarillo. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, September 03, 2019 at 2pm in the Funeral Home’s Chapel of Memories with Brother Paul Richardson officiating.
Mary was born in Snyder, Oklahoma to Charles and Lena (nee Vancleave) Bracken on December 17, 1924. She was married to the love of her life Bobby “BJ” Kemp for 55 years. She was solid in her faith, listening to the Bible on tape and as a member of Rockwell Road Baptist Church. She was a hard working woman who believed in the value of a good, honest day’s labor. She adored her family, and spending time with them was truly her greatest blessing.
Mary was preceded in death by her beloved BJ, granddaughter Tiffany Brown, great-granddaughter Makinna Kemp; her parents, and her siblings. Those left to cherish her memory are her children Jimmy Don and Betty Kemp; and their children Brenda, Rhonda, Jimmy Jr., Shawnda and their spouses, Larry and Tina Kemp; and their children Jackie, Angela, and their spouses, Mary Bob and Ottis Carnahan; and their child Kendall, Fred and Karen Kemp; and their children Nick, Steven, Jeremy, Bo, and their spouses. She also leaves a legacy of 26 great-great grandchildren, and 8 great-great-great-grandchildren with two more on the way.
