Mildred “Millie” Ruth Hill, 93 of Amarillo passed away October 13, 2012. A graveside service for Mildred Hill will be held Thursday at 2:00 PM at Llano Cemetery with Rev. Corky Holland officiating by Griggs-Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors.
She was born on September 19, 1919 near Turkey, Texas and was a long time resident of Amarillo. Ms. Hill was Supervisor of the Purchasing Department for the Amarillo Helium Plant retiring in 1976.
“Aunt Midge" was dearly loved and respected by her 16 nieces and nephews (and their children) who shared many memories with her.
She was an active member of the First Baptist Church, Amarillo, a Pink Lady at Baptist Saint Anthony’s Hospital and a volunteer at Buchanan Street Baptist Mission.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Sallie Mae Anderson and Henry Garland Hill , her sister Leola Nelson, and her brothers, W.W. (Cat) Hill and Otis Hill.
She is survived by her brother and wife, Herbert and Pauline Hill of Amarillo, her sister and husband Gerry and Paul McCaffrey of Dallas, sister Polly Cobb of Lancaster and great-nephew and his wife, Jimmy and April Rogers of Amarillo.
