Visitation will be Friday, August 1, 2014 from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 2, 2014 at Griggs Schooler Gordon Funeral Directors Pioneer Chapel with Pastor Jerry Davey officiating.
Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery in Dalhart.
Olen died on July 31, 2014 at The Watermere retirement home from natural causes quietly in his sleep. Olen served his country in the Army during World War II, where he received a medal with 5Bronze Stars and 1 bronze Arrowhead. He was a conductor and an engineer for Rock Island Railroad. During his free time he enjoyed playing bingo. He was very proud of his Coin and Stamp collection. He enjoyed spending time with his granddaughter and his great- grandsons. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. He lived in Dalhart, Amarillo, and most recent Keller. Olen will always be remembered for his generosity and ease of manner as well as his service to his country during WWII.
He is survived by a granddaughter Charlene Stockholm and husband Frank; 2 great grandsons; grandson Travis Wilcox.
