Paul was born on December 1, 1935 and raised in Lima, Ohio. He was the only boy of six children. He graduated from St. Rose Catholic High in Lima. Paul joined the Air Force in 1954 and left Ohio on orders to be stationed at the Amarillo Air Force Base. Upon being honorably discharged from the service of his country, he embraced the “pioneer spirit” of the Panhandle and adopted Amarillo as his lifetime home. The next 28 years were dedicated to his family and helping to raise his first four loving children. To put food on the table, he pursued the true American dream as a self-made entrepreneur. Some of his ventures included Kennedy-Arden Paint Co.; Dek-Co. Manufacturing; Texas Red’s Bar-B-Que; and A-1 Computer Sales and Service. In 1986 he suffered a heart attack that would define the second half of his life. In July 1987 he married Judy Pendley. She brought her two children into the marriage and they became his children too. With Judy’s unwavering love and support he built A-1 Computers into a thriving business until the day the Lord called Paul home at last. His presence on this earth touched many lives as a husband, father, and friend. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Nara, Joe Alvarado, Lacy, and the entire trauma team of Northwest Texas Hospital; the attending firemen and EMT team; and Hugh and Tamara Bonifield, who were present with Paul at his passing.
Paul was preceded in death by his son Mark Stephen Kennedy, his sisters Marietta, Carol, and Catherine, and his parents Paul Edward Kennedy and Frances Ellis Kennedy.
Paul is survived by his wife, Judy Pendley Kennedy, and their children Laurie Green, and Kevin Pendley; Paul’s first wife, Carole Aska Kennedy and their children, Christine Weston and husband Kenneth Weston, Carole Kennedy, Paul Kennedy and wife Sarah Heaton Kennedy; and his sisters Martha “Mick” Mellis, and Frances Pfeiffer. He is the proud “Papa” of nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
