

Ronald “Robbie” Jaynes, 66 of Amarillo passed away March 1, 2012. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 5, 2012 at Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel of Memories Rev. Dale Westbrook of New Fellowship Baptist officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 I-40 East. Ron was born August 19, 1946 in Toledo, Ohio to Raymond and Harriette Jaynes. He moved to Texas in 1960 and then on to Amarillo in 1962. Ron served his country in the United States Army from 1967 to 1969 where he spent a year in Vietnam. He worked at Maywood then went on to work for Amarillo Independent School District as head custodian at Sanborn Elementary. He worked there for 14 years then retired to open his own little convenience store “The Rockwell Country Store” which he ran for 15 years before retiring again. Ron then went on to be a door greeter at the Wal-Mart in Canyon, as Ron always loved being around people. He led the singing at his church where he loved to sing the old hymns and had a voice that the angels loved hearing. Ron was into his wrestling, joking, riding his John Deere tractor, traveling and spending time with family. He never met a stranger no matter where his family took him. Ron has now gone home to be with the Lord and stroll over heaven with Him. Ron was preceded in death by his parents; a sister and a granddaughter. Ron is survived by his wife of 31 years, Nancy Jaynes of the home; daughters, Kim Juvenal and husband Robert of Amarillo and Deborah Arnston and husband Nels of Austin; sister, Kitty Jaynes of Amarillo; brother, Rodney Jaynes of Mississippi; niece, Darla Woods of Amarillo; grandkids, Tasha Brown and husband Brandon of Amarillo, Zack Summers of Indianapolis, Indiana; Matthew Duncan and Jake Arnston both of Austin; great-grandkids, Keyondre Summers of Amarillo and Brooke Summers of Indianapolis, Indiana; many other nieces and nephews; special friends Dale and Marybell Westbrook; also by his church family.
