Roy Foster Conner Jr.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church with Dr. Roger Smith officiating.

Interment is at Memorial Park Cemetery

Roy was born on July 20, 1945 to Roy ”Tex” and Flora Conner in San Antonio. After graduation Roy joined the US Air Force and transferred to the Amarillo Air Force Station. While stationed in Amarillo he met the former Karleen Hibbs on Polk Street at the Double Dip. The couple were married April 28, 1967 and Roy settled into civilian life as the office manager for John Chandler Ford for the past 25 years. He was a lifelong member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church. Roy was an avid Green Bay Packer fan and stockholder in the franchise. He loved John Wayne movies and taking family trips. Roy was all about family in everything he did. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Roy is preceded in death by his parents, a brother and a sister

Roy is survived by his loving wife Karleen of more than 47 years; a daughter, Leslie Michele Conner of Amarillo; a son, David Roy Conner and wife Lisa of Dalhart; a sister, Juanita Jonas of Boerne; 3 grandchildren, Foster Wayne Conner and Dalton Karl Conner both of Dalhart and Karlee Jo Conner of Amarillo and numerous nieces and nephews

Visitation is from 6-8pm Tuesday at the funeral home.
