Ruth O. “Miss Ruth” Stanley, 55 of Amarillo passed away June 22, 2012. Celebration of Life services will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 27, 2012 at Lighthouse Baptist Church with Danny Lucas, Pastor officiating. Arrangements are by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 I-40 East. Private family inurnment will be at Llano Cemetery by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 I-40 East. Ruth was born April 26, 1957 in Amarillo to Elmer and Dorothy Williams. She married Johnny Stanley in 1977 while he was serving his country in the U.S. Army. Miss Ruth loved the life of a soldier’s wife for over 20 years. Miss Ruth was dedicated to her children and grandchildren, and always provided plenty of love and plenty of candy bags. She was a true poker player and her passion for Texas Hold’em convinced her poker buddies to fold-em; she was that good. She had a special place in her heart for her two sisters, Becky Miller and Mary Acosta for all their love and support. Miss Ruth was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister and will never be forgotten. Ruth was preceded in death by her Papa and Granny, Dennis and Donna Locke; and one brother, Wayne Williams. Ruth is survived by her best friend and husband of 35 years, Johnny M. Stanley of Amarillo; daughters, Melisa Bowman and husband Justin of Amarillo, Mary Lyman and husband Jeremy of Amarillo and Terri Lynn Williams; brothers, Michael, Robert and Elton; sisters, Donna, Carolyn, Becky and Mary; her mother, Dorothy Williams; grandchildren, Jonathon, Zazi, Gunner, Zoi, Zuri, Brodie, Cooper and Sydney.
