Vita Margaret Sheahan Connell

Vita Margaret Sheahan Connell passed away from this earth at home while surrounded by family on April 6, 2017. Services are scheduled at Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel of Memories at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 12, 2017 with the Reverend Ed Sweeney and Evangelist Doug Reeves officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery next to her beloved husband of 43 years, Joe.

Mrs. Connell was born in St Louis, Missouri on April 3, 1924. She was the only surviving sister of 10 children. She was a member of St. Laurence Catholic Church for 60 years, after leaving school in her youth to help support her family; she received her GED at the age of 71. Her favorite hobbies were her plants, her birds, and her children. She will be missed.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Patrick Connell and two daughters, Patsy Connell and Faith Ann Connell Hatchett.

Survivors include sons, Joseph Patrick, J.r. Harold and wife Pat of Amarillo, Thomas and wife Deedee of Amarillo and Robert of Edgewood, New Mexico, plus son in law Fred Hatchett; Daughters, Mary Christine Connell Biggerstaff and husband Jerry of Lubbock, Texas, Vita Margaret Connell Reeves and husband Doug of Lubbock, Texas, June Keating, Barbara Connell Wilke and husband John and Teresa Connell of Amarillo, Texas, and Kathleen Connell Sanchez and husband Gus of Garland, Texas. She also leaves behind 19 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, and 15 great- great grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews.
