Willie Myrle Kuykendall

Willie Myrle Kuykendall, 96 of Amarillo passed away October 12, 2012. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at Southwest Church of Christ with Mr. Brian Mashburn and Mr. Brent Adams officiating. Arrangements are by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 I-40 East. Interment will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 I-40 East. Willie Myrle was born February 10, 1916 in Mill, New Mexico to H.G. and Hazel Muncie Horn. She was raised in Amarillo and lived here most of her life. She married M.C. “Kirk” Kuykendall on June 22, 1940. They had one daughter. Willie Myrle loved traveling, photography and sewing. She was an active member of Southwest Church of Christ and loved her church activities. Willie Myrle loved the Sunshiners, game night and birthday dinners. Most of all she loved spending quality time with her beloved family. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, M.C. “Kirk” Kuykendall and her parents; her sister, Lola Nell Connor and brother-in-law, Lev Connor. Willie Myrle is survived by her daughter, Marilyn Mann and husband Preston of Amarillo; granddaughter, Rhonda Cooper and husband Chris of Amarillo; grandsons, Brent Mann and wife Connie of Abilene and Monte Mann and wife Jennifer of Allen; nine great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren; sister, Wanda Tilger and husband Bill of Chandler, Tx; also by a nephew and three nieces. The family suggests memorials be sent to the High Plains Children’s Home or to one’s favorite charity. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
