Yolanda G. Santos, 70, of Amarillo, passed away on May 25, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, June 2, at 10am, at Memorial Park Funeral Home. Viewing will be held on Thursday, June 1, from 5-7pm at Memorial Park Funeral Home, Chapel of Memories.
Yolanda was born on July 13, 1952, to Oscar Juan Gonzales and Amelia Jasso, in Morrill, Nebraska. She was the youngest of 10 siblings. She attended Morrill High School and graduated in 1972. Yolanda married Daniel Santos in 1974, and they were together for 48 years. She worked as a Teacher’s Aid for several years for AISD and the Gering Independent School District. Yolanda enjoyed many hobbies, including sewing and crocheting. She loved to make quilts and baby blankets for her granddaughters. Yolanda was also an excellent cook and her signature dish was Chile Colorado. She also loved to dance and listen to Tejano music.
Yolanda was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Alicia and her two brothers, Alfredo and Oscar.
Those left to cherish her memory are her spouse, Daniel Santos, of Amarillo; Her step-son, Ramon Soto, of Indiana; Her son, Jonah Santos, and wife, Alexandra, of Amarillo; Her daughters, Jessica Santos, of Amarillo, and Jamie Santos, of Amarillo; Three brothers, Ralph, Roy, and Albert; Sisters, Stella, Mary Lou, and Amelia; Her grandchildren, Sidnie, Marisa, Phillip, Elijah, Ava, Olivia, Evan, and Lucas; One great-grandchild, Kimberlyn; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members. Yolanda will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
