

Charles Donald “Don” Favreau, 92, entered into the everlasting peace of his Lord on May 17th, 2016 in Orange, CA. A resident of Anaheim, California since 1963, Don Favreau was born to Charles Edouard Favreau and Marie (DeMers) Favreau on June 12th, 1923 in Rolla, North Dakota.
Don proudly served his country as a Sergeant in the 6th Infantry Division of the US Army during WWII. Upon his return from the war, he enrolled in college and received a degree in Engineering from the University of Iowa. In 1948, Don married Joan (Sullivan) Favreau, a union that lasted 67 years until his death. He worked as a Director for McDonnell Douglas/Boeing until his retirement in 1985. For the next 10 years, he volunteered his talents with his wife, Joan, at Third World Handarts, a non-profit organization begun by his daughter, Jeanne (Favreau) Sorvillo. Don was an avid golfer, accomplished tennis player and master gardener. He was also a devout Catholic and a religious pillar of St. Justin Martyr Church in Anaheim, CA. Don considered his family to be his greatest “life” achievement and showered all of his family members with unconditional love and support over the course of his entire life.
Don is survived by his wife, Joan (Sullivan) Favreau, his children, Jeanne Favreau- Sorvillo and Francis Sorvillo, Michele (Favreau) Haight and Michael Haight, Monica Favreau, Michael Favreau and Laura (Donnelly) Favreau , Anthony Favreau and Cindy (Johnston) Favreau, Marie (Favreau) Reuling and Pete Reuling, John Favreau and Ann (Brennan) Favreau and Anne T. Favreau, his grandchildren, Karri (Favreau) Slaton, Tera Sorvillo, Bryan Sorvillo, Christopher Haight, Matthew Haight, Noelle (Haight) Bruner, Erin (Haight) Maniord, Daniel Haight, Cory Favreau, Nicholas Favreau, Chase Favreau, Jake Favreau, Will Favreau, Rachel (Favreau) Christianson, Eric Favreau, Alexa Reuling, Michael Reuling, Nicole Favreau, and Timothy Favreau, his great-grandchildren, Bryce and Cole Slaton, Gracen and Dylan Haight, Luke Haight, Charlee and Dean Bruner, Riley and Dallas Maniord, Evan, Alex and Isaac Favreau, and Sadie and Corinna Favreau, and his siblings, Janet Corinne Bateson and Joseph Leon Favreau. Don was preceded in death by his son, Charles (Chuck) Donald Favreau Jr.
A Rosary will be held on Tuesday, May 24th, 2016 at 7pm at Pierce Brothers Funeraria del Angel, 2425 W. Lincoln Ave., Anaheim, CA, 92801. A Catholic Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 25th, 2016 at 10:00am at St. Justin Martyr Church, 2050 W. Ball Rd, Anaheim, CA, 92804. Interment will immediately follow the Mass at Good Shepherd Cemetery, 8301 Talbert Ave, Huntington Beach, CA 92646. A reception to celebrate his life will take place from 1:00 to 5:00 pm at the SeaCliff Country Club, 6501 Palm Ave, Huntington Beach, CA, 92648 after the interment. Don and Joan supported many charitable causes throughout the years. The family invites you to make a donation to your favorite charity to honor this legacy.
