Jesus P. Quitugua passed away on Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at 98 years of age. He was born in Agana, Guam on August 5, 1922 to Jose and Milagro Quitugua. He was preceded in death by his wife, Tomasa and is survived by his children, Joyce, Michael, Sandra and spouses, and 5 grandchildren.
Growing up in Guam Jesus' fondest memories were serving as a choir boy in the local Catholic church. That musical training would help lead Jesus to his future wife. While working as a local musician in Agana, Jesus was introduced to Tomasa, sister of his bandmate. They were married soon after, while Jesus served in the U. S. Navy. After 10 years of military service Jesus and Tomasa settled in Southern California where Jesus found work in the aerospace industry while Tomasa cared for the growing family. In the 1960's he became a business owner. For 20 years the entire family helped run a successful fast-food operation serving patrons in Anaheim. Following retirement Jesus spent time with Tomasa, kids and grandkids. An avid Dodger fan, he spent many enjoyable afternoons with his boys at the Stadium. He was a competitive bowler and enjoyed the sport into his 90's. Jesus was happiest when working in his garden and was especially happy sharing the fruits of his labor.
Jesus was loved by many and will be terribly missed. His family is comforted knowing that as a believer in God's promises, Jesus has a place at God's table."
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.funerariadelangelanaheim.com for the Quitugua family.
