

Judith Mary Cromie Swenson was promoted out of this life on Thursday, June 29, 2017 in her home of 48 years in Anaheim, CA surrounded by her loving family. She was preceded in death by her husband Donald John Swenson, and two siblings Rosemary Cromie and Robert Cromie. Judy was born May 1, 1942 to James and Helen (Ransil) Cromie in Pittsburgh, PA.
Judy graduated from Mercyhurst College in Pittsburgh in 1964 with a BA in English and lived a life of service. She was a teacher when she met Donald in Duncan, OK. They married July 29, 1967, and moved to California later that year. Their family began to grow when they welcomed their first daughter Ellen Linnea. Ruth Ann followed, then Frank James, John Daniel, Wesley Andrew, Dorothy Marie, and William David completed the family in 1981. Judy always said seven was the number of creation, and her children were her greatest creations.
She served her savior at Evangelical Free Church of Garden Grove, playing the piano and organ for services and choirs, teaching Sunday School and children’s programs, one year she painted the official church sign, but above all, raised her children, instilling a love for the Lord within them. She is survived by two brothers, James Cromie and Albert Cromie, and three sisters, Patricia (Cromie) Erny, Jeanne (Cromie) Martin, and Althea (Cromie) Torisky, her seven children, and grandchildren: Tristan, Emily, Alex, Zach, Alyson, Amy, Shane, Ashaya, Samantha, Josiah, Daniel, Charis, Wyatt, Ezra, Caedmon, Theophilus, Theron, Anneliese, Vesper, Clayton and Colton.
A viewing will be held Thursday, July 6th from 5:00-9:00 pm at Del Angel Mortuary in Anaheim, CA. The memorial service will be officiated by Pastor Matt Ford on Friday, July 7th at 7:30 pm at Fountain of Life Church in Fountain Valley, CA. All who knew her are welcome to come celebrate her life.
