Angela Pei-Pei Sturdevant

Angela Sturdevant, 51, passed away on October 21, 2021 at her residence in Ankeny, IA. A service will be held on Saturday, October 30, at 1:00 P.M. at Heartland Church in Ankeny.

Angela Kung was born on August 29, 1970 to David and Nishiki Kung in Taipei, Taiwan. The family moved to San Francisco in the mid 1970’s. In addition to grade school, she learned the importance of work at an early age in the family-owned grocery store. Angela graduated from Las Lomas High School in 1989. She took some college courses but ultimately chose the workforce as a bookstore clerk and a personal assistant at a nursing home facility.

In 1999 she was ready to move away from California and joined some friends from her church out to Iowa. Eventually, she accepted a position as a payroll clerk at Casey’s, a job she enjoyed and made many friendships.

In 2008, Angela met the love of her life, Jesse. There was an instant bond and they were married on October 10, 2010. They had 11 wonderful years together. She was also an amazing stepmom to Jesse’s children, Tyler and Mya.

Angela has a variety of hobbies and interests. She loved ocean life, animals (especially cats!), reading, cooking, and collecting Legos.

Angela could always brighten the day with her smile and warm personality. She loved giving gifts and had the gift of hospitality to anyone who came to visit. Most of all, Angela was a follower of Jesus.

Memorial contributions for Angela Sturdevant can be addressed to her family for later distribution.
