He graduated from Southeast Polk High School in 2009. After completing his associate’s degree at DMACC, he transferred to Iowa State University where he was a senior in agricultural studies. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, spending time outdoors, snowboarding, being with family and friends, and hanging out at home around the swimming pool. He was a member of Cross Point United Methodist Church in Bondurant.
Austin is survived by his parents, Bill and Jane; brother, Cody; grandparents, Charles and Jeannette Brinning and Bill and Margaret Wonderlich; great grandmother, Armena Starr; step-grandmother, Dorothy Wonderlich; uncles, James L.Sloan, Jr. (Mindy), Jason Sloan (Val) and aunt Kathy Wonderlich; and special friend, Molly Wharton. Austin is survived by other loving relatives and many special friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, James L. Sloan.
