My father peacefully passed away surrounded by his children. His journey was a long one but he had many angels at his side along the way; my sister Mary , brother Rob, brother in law Bobby, niece Katy, and cherished friend Jim, that made it possible for him to live out his life at home such an unselfish blessing and gift of love. He was a courageous man, whose love for his family knew no bounds. He would do anything for his family and friends at the drop of a hat. The biggest lesson I learned from him was that everyone had a story & purpose in life, all we need to do is to listen to each other & cherish every moment. ....please say a prayer for him that the Lord will soon hold him is the palms of his hands...

As said in 1st John chapter 5—verse 15, You’re the omniscient God who we know hears all prayers. So, we pray for the soul of our departed brother that You, oh Lord may nourish and take care of him in Heaven. You encourage us to ask and that it shall be given to us and so, we’ve asked and we know our request has been given. We thank You for providing for the deceased when he was alive and for sheltering us—also to be present in this prayer:
Incline Thine ear, O Lord, unto our prayers, wherein we humbly pray Thee to show Thy mercy upon the soul of Thy servant Charles, whom Thou hast commanded to pass out of this world, that Thou wouldst place him in the region of peace and light, and bid him be a partaker with Thy Saints. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
His loving daughter, Nancy

I was blessed to walk with my father on his journey to heaven. Being with him every day and caring for him allowed me to show unending love for him. Fixing him meals, reading Jesus Calling everyday, and watching Wheel of Fortune at night filled my days with joy. It was a privilege to meet his friends when they came to visit. I marvel at the gift of true friendship that my father has with his very close friend, Jim Frazee. He and his wife, Ginny are truly members of our family. Days and times were difficult, but Dad's faith and the faith that deepened in me helped me remember that through serving others, we are serving our Lord. Dad always thought of others. I will treasure this gift of beautiful love all the days of my life. My husband Bob was always by my side, supporting me and cherishing time with my Dad. With support of my brother, Rob and my sister, Nancy, we were able to carry out Dad's wishes of staying at home until his heavenly journey. Another angel always at his side was my beautiful daughter Katy who provided her grandfather a ray of sunshine.
Thank you to all who offered prayers for my Dad and our family. We were blessed with an incredible hospice team from EveryStep. His hospice nurse Stacy was his angel of comfort. The VA was so supportive of all of the services that comforted Dad. God's blessings to all!
Family was so important to Dad. He loved his grandkids and great grandchildren. They all loved to give Grandpa a hug and kiss!

If there was a family event (especially a grandkid event) he would be there ready to liven up the party - and if it involved the Hawkeyes, the Bears or the Yankees then all the better. He made us better people & he will be missed.
