Charles "Chuck" Edward Geest

A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, December 1, 2025, at 11:00 am at St. Luke the Evangelist Catholic Church, 1102 NW Weigel Dr, Ankeny, IA 50023. There will be a time of food and fellowship at the church following the service. Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 30, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the Ankeny Funeral Home, 1510 West 1st Street, Ankeny, Iowa 50023.

Chuck was born on July 20, 1972, in Davenport, Iowa to Richard Dean and Renate “Renee” (Szepesi) Geest. He graduated from Davenport West high school in 1990. He continued his education at Iowa State University where he earned his bachelor’s degree in engineering. He met the love of his life, Jody Mescher, while at Iowa State University. They were united in marriage on March 15, 1997, in Halbur, Iowa at St Augustine Catholic Church. There are two children to this union, Miranda and Lincoln. After college, the family settled in Ankeny, Iowa. Chuck was an engineering consultant for Twin Rivers Engineering in Des Moines, Iowa.

Early in life, Chuck enjoyed fishing and hunting. As an adult he loved cheering for ISU Cyclones, going to his children’s band and choir events and tennis matches. Chuck and Jody took an anniversary trip with their family to Alaska, and he also enjoyed traveling to other places with family and friends. Most of all, Chuck dearly loved making memories with his family. Chuck was known for his fun outfits during family holidays and other events. Chuck enjoyed helping others and volunteering, especially at his children's schools.

Chuck is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Jody Geest; two children, Miranda Geest and Lincoln Geest; his mother, Renee Geest; three siblings, Chris (Lidija) Geest, Andy (Laurie) Geest, and Gretchen Geest and several nieces, nephews and Jody’s loving family. He is preceded in death by his father, Richard Dean Geest and his father-in-law, Paul Frederick Mescher.

In lieu of flowers, memorials will be directed to the family and will be designated at a later date.
