

Douglas James, 58, passed away June 28th, 2021. A celebration of life will be held Thursday, July 8th, from 5 to 8 P.M. at Ankeny Funeral Home located at 1510 W 1st Street, Ankeny, IA, 50023.
Douglas was born to Kenneth and Lois (Mosier) James on August 26th, 1962 in Iowa City, IA. He graduated from Bondurant-Farrar High School in 1980, and participated in baseball, basketball, football, and track. Douglas’ passion in life was music. He played the guitar, sang, and was involved in several bands. He was an avid collector of guitars, hats, movies, and loved to work in the yard. Doug was a Minnesota Vikings and Pittsburg Pirates fan. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to all. He loved to do arts and crafts projects. Doug worked as a carpet installer, he then worked for Adams Door which later turned to DH Pace Company.
Doug will be remembered by his love for his sons, Chase and Cody James, his love for music, playing the guitar, and being in bands, his kindness, and witty sense of humor. Doug touched many lives by his ability to live, laugh, and love, and his love for rock ‘n’ roll.
Douglas is preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Lois James.
Douglas is survived by his sons, Chase and Cody James; sister, Darla; several cousins, aunts, and uncles; and many dear friends.
As Doug would say, “Long live rock ‘n’ roll!” He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
