Funeral Services will be held on Friday, May 2, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at the Ankeny Funeral Home, 1510 West First Street, Ankeny, Iowa, 50023. Visitation will be held one hour before the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow the funeral service at Highland Memory Gardens, 1 NE 60th Ave, Des Moines, IA 50313.
Elaine Marie Oldes was born on February 7, 1958, in Des Moines, Iowa to Bill Paul and Dorene Ramona (Sargent) Olson. She graduated from Saydel High School in 1977. Following high school, she began her career as a Food Service Worker in the Des Moines Public Schools. She spent most of her time at North High School in Des Moines serving over 25 years until her retirement in 2018.
Elaine enjoyed collecting beanie babies and strawberry nick knacks. She never missed her daily soap operas or her crime tv shows. Most of all, Elaine dearly loved spending time with her family. She was hardworking, and kind. She would do anything for the ones she loved in moment’s notice with no questions asked.
Elaine is preceded in death by her daughter, Sheila Oldes; her parents; maternal grandparents, Ray and Dorothy Sargent, and paternal grandparents, Paul and Sylvia Olson. She is survived by her son, William (Katie) Oldes; six grandchildren, and two sisters, Leatrice Olson (Janet Dickinson) and Sandy (Dale) Webb.
