Irene South, 67, passed away on Thursday, November 20, 2014 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. A Memorial visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, November 25, 2014 with a prayer service at 6 p.m. at the Ankeny Funeral Home.

Irene was born July 27, 1947 in Kassel, Germany to Stanley and Irmgard (Fiedler) Klich, Sr. She had lived in Huron, SD for fourteen years and Ankeny for several years. Irene was a cosmetologist and a sales associate at Gene Ann’s Hallmark Store in Ankeny. She loved knitting, crocheting, reading, cooking, gardening, dancing, listening to music and spending time with her family.

Irene is survived by her husband of 39 years, Monty South of Ankeny; two sons, Mark South of Ankeny and Justin (Becky) South of Eagan, MN; one granddaughter, Brittny South of Buffalo, NY; three brothers, Stanley Klich, Jr. of Huron, SD, Tom (Laurie) Klich of Woonsocket, SD and Ed (Carol) Klich of Huron, SD; and two sisters, Sylvia Munson of Wessington Springs, SD and Karen Glover of Huron, SD. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Francis Klich.
