Jim was born on August 19th, 1950 in Des Moines, Iowa to Henry and Elizabeth (Patterson) Weston. He graduated from East High School in 1968 and continued his education at Utah State.
Jim married Sheryl Albaugh on April 27th, 1974; they were 20 days shy of celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. They enjoyed countless vacations, traveling with their AirStream camper, and spending time at their cabin in Guthrie Center.
In Jim’s early years, he rode outdoor motocross circuit racing Bultaco Motorcycles for 10 years. He was his very own pit crew, traveling all over the country. Jim was also the biggest fan of his kids at their sporting events, coaching them throughout their youth sporting endeavors for many years. Jim enjoyed hunting, fishing, archery; he was the epitome of an outdoorsman. He enjoyed traveling to Canada and Alaska to fish, and to Idaho, Colorado, and Mexico to hunt. He developed many close friendships over the years through his outdoorsman adventures. Jim was also a respected contractor of his own concrete business for 41 years. His work ethic was much to be strived for. Later in life, he enjoyed cheering for his grandchildren’s sporting events. Go Bluejays! Go Rams! Go Jaguars!
Jim will be deeply missed by his wife Sheryl Weston of Ankeny, Rollie (Melanie) Weston of Bondurant, Amanda (Scott) Hintz of Altoona, Reed (Meredith) Weston of Ankeny, seven grandchildren Gage Weston, Charlie Hintz, Libby Weston, Oliver Hintz, Brody Weston, Jace Weston, Max Weston, sister Jeneane (Ben) Tillotson, sister Debbie Kain, and brother Jack (Roberta) Weston.
