A Celebration of Life is going to be held on Saturday, September 9, 2023 beginning at 1 pm at the Lion’s Club Pavilion at North Fayette Township Park, 400 North Branch Road, Oakdale, PA 15071.
Jody was born July 26, 1966 in Parma, Ohio to John Joseph and Shirley Carroll (Waltonbaugh) Madaras. He graduated from West Alleghney High School, Pimperial, Pennsylvania in 1984. After high school, he found his feet in Erlanger, Kentucky, where he began his career in Telecommunications at Storer Cable. In the early 2000’s he moved to Lebanon, Pennsylvania and began working for Comcast. Jody later moved to Phoenix, Arizona to work for Cox Cable. Finally completing his journey in 2021 he moved to Polk City, Iowa where he worked as a Project Manager at Hylan West.
Jody enjoyed sharing a good joke with friends or family. He also liked John Wayne movies, riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, 70’s and 80’s rock and roll music, and playing video games. He would take a yearly trip to Flagstaff, Arizona with his father and brothers to hunt elk. Most of all, Jody dearly loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.
As a person, Jody was naturally funny and charismatic and loved to live a simple life. As he would say, “He was shallow as a puddle, but as wide as a lake.”
Jody is survived by his three children, Jennifer (Cory) Strennen of Scenery Hills, Pennsylvania, Jaklyn Madaras of Lebanon, Pennsylvania and Jakkob Madaras of Polk City, Iowa; five grandchildren, Charlotte, Luka, James, Brooke and Danika and other extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and other family members.
In memory of Jody, memorials may be directed to the family.
The family would like to encourage friends and family to share stories and loving memories or expressions of sympathy of Jody to the following email address: [email protected]
