Melodee Ann Miars

Melodee Ann Miars,62, was born on December 11, 1959, to Harold and Lucille Wartburg. She went home to join her parents, grandparents, sister Bonnie and brother-in-law Brian on January 6, 2022. A private family viewing will take place at Ankeny Funeral Home.

Melodee was a very caring and giving person and always put others before herself in many ways. She was always busy making something for someone when ever you saw or talked to her, making things like clothes, quilts, and cakes. She never stopped giving even at the end; she gave Life by donating her eyes and tissue through Iowa Donor Network.

Melodee worked at Amazon in Ankeny and loved to ride her motorcycle in the summer. She and her husband, Jim, would often take off and go on motorcycle rides to be out enjoying the beautiful summer days. Melodee cherished her trips to Wisconsin to see her son and spend time with her granddaughters, whom she thought the world of.

She will be greatly missed by her loving husband of 40 years, James Miars; son, Jeremie (Jessica) Hedrick; three daughters, Alea, Tori, and Ava Hedrick; sisters, Joyce Romick, Janis Eckstein, Barbara Edwards, and Pattie White; several nieces and nephews; and great nieces and nephews.

Melodee’s wishes were to be cremated, and a celebration of her Life will be held later. In place of flowers, memorials can be directed to the GO FUND ME page in memory of Melodee to help the family with funeral costs by following the link provided.
