“Mike” Wilber R. LaZella Jr., 74, died Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center. He will be cremated and a Memorial Visitation will be from 5 to 7 pm with a Memorial Service at 7 pm, Friday, July 30, 2010 at Ankeny Funeral Home, 1510 W. 1st Street. Inurnment will be at a later date at Ankeny Memorial Gardens.
Mike enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing and traveling. He loved all animals, especially his cat Boots.
Survivors include his wife, Annabelle Downey of Ankeny; children, Edwin (Sheri) LaZella of West Des Moines, Troy (Sue) LaZella of Bondurant, Elizabeth (Dan) Downey of Des Moines, Robert (Margie) LaZella of Jessup, and Wilber (Stacy) LaZella of Des Moines; sister, Elizabeth LaZella of Washington State; and 11 grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, and his first wife, Enneree LaZella.
