Ryan McConnell

Ryan McConnell, 27, was called home by his heavenly angels on Friday, January 13, 2012 at his home in Des Moines, IA. Visitation will be from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at Ankeny Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life service will be held Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at 8:00 p.m. with cremation to take place following services.

Ryan graduated from Bondurant High School in 2002 and from The Iowa School of Beauty in 2010. He was an excellent cosmetologist and loved by his clientele. Music was his passion and singing was his love. There is not a life experience Ryan couldn’t sum up with a song or a movie quote. He touched many people’s lives and his smile lit up a room. Ryan was a kid at heart; his passion started at two collecting Goofy after seeing Walt Disney on Ice and his collections also encompassed I Love Lucy, Start Trek, Marilyn Monroe, and Titanic to name a few.

Survivors include his mother, Becky Maire of Ankeny, IA; father, Larry (Velvet) McConnell of Mitchellville, IA; brother, Joe (Kayla) McConnell of Bondurant, IA; and their children, Hudson, Afton, Haydon and Benson; sister, Nicole McConnell of Mitchellville, IA; grandparents, Melvin and Phyllis Maire, Ken and Betty McConnell of Ankeny, IA; and his fiance' John Herweh.

His smile leaves an imprint on all our hearts.
