A Private Family Graveside Service will be held at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery at a later date.
Sharon was born on August 29th, 1958, to Arthur Walter and Betty Jane (Hauf) Templin in Chicago, Illinois. Sharon graduated from Arlington High School in Arlington Heights, Illinois in 1976. She then attended Northern Illinois University where she studied art and design.
After college, she began working as an Administrative Assistant in various businesses. Most of all, she dearly loved working with her brother, Gary Templin, at his DJ company The Windy City Hitman.
Sharon was united in marriage to John Cheshire on June 11th, 1988 at St. Simons Church in Arlington Heights, Illinois. The couple spent most of their lives together in Gurney, Illinois until they retired to Ankeny, Iowa in 2015.
A hostess at heart, Sharon loved having people over and making sure nobody went home hungry. She had a deep love for animals, especially her cats; Tara and Willow; and her dogs; Sampson, Rex, Bess and Spencer. Sharon cherished the time she spent with her family, friends, and beloved neighbors–ideally sipping something tasty out in the sun.
Sharon was an artist of many disciplines including interior design, watercolors, sewing, and collaging, among others. She made everything around her beautiful, including the people in her life, as she never hesitated to show her love and offer a kind word.
Sharon is preceded in death by her parents and her beloved animals. She is survived by her husband, John; her brother, Gary Templin; her sister, Christine (Tom) Templin DeTaeye; her nephews, Adam and Daniel Cheshire and Ben DeTaeye, and her niece and Goddaughter, Lily DeTaeye.
Memorials may be directed to the family and will be given to a charity of their choice later in the loving memory of Sharon.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be left at www.ankenyfuneralhome.com for the Cheshire family.
