Trudy Rae Davey

She was born in Des Moines, Iowa on November 16, 1945, to Ray and Mary (Jorgensen) Bennett. She graduated from Dallas Center High School in 1964 and was united in marriage to C. Allen Davey on February 27, 1970. The couple most recently resided in Ankeny. They have been blessed with two children,

Aaron and Jennifer. Trudy worked in the accounting departments of American Republic Insurance and Younkers. She retired early after receiving a bilateral lung transplant over 14 years ago.

Trudy had many talents and interests. She enjoyed gardening, entertaining, arts and crafts, weekly movies, and shopping. Trudy especially enjoyed interior decorating, cooking and baking. She treasured time spent traveling with Allen and making memories with her children and grandchildren, especially during the holidays.

Trudy will be deeply missed by her husband, Allen Davey; children, Aaron (Laurie) Davey and Jennifer (Reid) Ferguson; grandchildren, Justin Davey and Michael Davey; and siblings, Joyce McGlothlen and Mike Bennett. She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Jan, Tim and Ned.

Trudy will be cremated. A celebration of her life will be held from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., Sunday, February 26, 2017 at Ankeny Funeral Home, 1510 W. First Street. The family will inurn her cremains in a private ceremony at a later date.

Memorials may be made to the Pulmonary Hypertension Association in lieu of flowers.
