

Adelaide B. Harris Born October 28, 1926. Died May 11, 2012 after a brief battle with cancer. Adelaide a.k.a. “Dude” was born to Adelaide and Henry Burger in Dearborn, Michigan then moved to Milan where she resided through early adulthood. On June 17, 1950 she married Charles Robert Harris who preceded her in death on July 2, 2004. She is survived by her six children: Cheryl (Bud) Boyer, Michael (Olida) Harris, Mary (Bryan) Millican, Patrick Harris, Kathleen (Ron) Mattix, Mathew (Wendy) Harris, their six grandchildren Stephanie, Nathan, James, Keith, Kelli and Devyn, her sister Alice Allstetter, her brother-in-law Dane Greashaber, and her sister-in-law Loraine Burger. Her greatest joy in life was being awarded a certificate of appreciation from President Harry Truman for her service in re-registering the men returning from WWII. She enjoyed her work at Edwards Brothers, then continued her career at the University of Michigan, retiring in 1986. She loved the travel she and Bob did after retirement to Florida, especially cruising. Burial has taken place at Marble Park Cemetery in Milan, Michigan. Memorial contributions may be made to Arbor Hospice.
