

He was born in Ann Arbor, MI on September 20, 1939 to Louie and Ruth (Blackmon) Pepper. Benjamin was preceded in death by his parents and siblings (Louie, Nancy, RuthAnn and Daniel) as well as his beloved first wife Stella whom he shared three children Dawn (Al) Pepper Cloutier, JD (Chere) Pepper, and Matthew Pepper. Benjamin proudly served in the United States Marine Corps from 1957 to 1960 before retiring from Ford Motor Company after more than 40 years working as a diesel mechanic. He always said he never worked a day in his life because he LOVED his job.
Benjamin reconnected with his childhood sweetheart, (Rilda) Kay marrying her in 1995 gaining three bonus children James (Lydia) McKelvie, Rhonda (Dino) Deluca and Jaki Edwards-Root. Benjamin and Kay lived in Canton, Michigan until his death.
Benjamin is survived by his treasured wife, three children, three bonus children, 14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
The family will host a memorial gathering on Sunday, September 24, 2023 from 3p to 7p at Muehlig Funeral Chapel located at 403 S. Fourth Ave in Ann Arbor, MI. The memorial gathering will continue on Monday, September 25, 2023 at 12p prior to a Celebration of Life Service at 1p. There will be a short graveside service at Washtenong Memorial Cemetery in Ann Arbor following the Celebration of Life Service.
In lieu of flowers, charitable donations may be made in Benjamin’s name to the American Diabetes Association.
