Ellen and I were in fifth and sixth grade together in Bach School. Since we had the same first name, we connected. We were also the largest girls in the class. Back then, students were made to weigh in front of everyone once or twice a year. Ellen and I were neck and neck. We were the same height. We were both miserable about this. We would have done anything to get out of the weigh-in. Plus, we were in competition with each other. Who was going to show up as the fattest? It was horrid. We agreed to be the last to weigh. One of us was 111 and the other 113. Way too much for 6th graders, but negligible difference between us.

I'm really sorry she has died so young. I am naturally curious what caused her death as we were the same age. I hope she had a lovely life and a painless death. Rest in peace, Ellen. You'll always be a delightful 12 year old in my memory.

I worked with Ellen in Financial Operations at UM. She worked in a different area and would come down to our floor a lot. I spoke with her a lot and we laughed together. I really liked her & enjoyed our conservations! I’m so sorry for your loss!

Ellen and I became friends in Kindergarten when she got lost walking home from Bach school. We played while my Mother called her Mom to let her know she was safe and playing with me. Our friendship continued throughout our entire life. Teen years of driving my Dad's car and going to pick up Ellen and going to Burger King was fun times for us! She also liked to get drinks at Paul Bunyan. We had such happy, simple times together. When years passed, once we talked, those years melted away and we picked up where we left off. I will miss Ellen so much! I loved her as a friend, and I know that she will be welcomed in Heaven!

Never forget the family reunions. Ellen always tried to get the family together. I'll never forget the time we had a reunion at Killarney Lake. Ellen and I decided to take a paddle boat out and we didn't get far but it was a good time and we had a good laugh. RIP Ellen. You will always be remembered and in our hearts.

Ellen and I met back in Junior High reminded friends. Even though our lives went separate ways we would run into each other at Meijers or hospital and we reminisced of our younger days and what was happening at that time. I also remember helping park cars on football saturdays. She was a great friend and proud to call her my friend, she will be deeply missed. Thoughts and prayers to you, Mike and family.
