

Hattie Mae Jones, age 91, passed away peacefully at home in Ann Arbor, Michigan, on September 13, 2013. Born in Aguilla, Mississippi, on August 29, 1922, she found her home in Michigan with then husband William D. Jones From that union came Lillian and Bobby.
Hattie took pleasure in her work as a nurse’s aid, pulmonary technician for the V.A. Hospital and vocational educator. In addition, she did all of this while being a license beautician with hair salons in Romulus, Inkster, and Ann Arbor. She was an avid fisherman specializing in blue gills, the majority of which she threw back because they were too small. She had a special place in her heart for her church, the Girl Scouts, and the Red Cross, having received multiple awards, acknowledgements, and commendations for her service.
Hattie Mae is survived by her daughter and son, Lillian and Bobby, her daughter-in-law Lajuan, grandchildren Sonia, Quendelyn, Angela, and Michael, cousin James Finch, six great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, sister-in-law Rosie Lee Eady, and a host of loving in-laws.
