I just heard the news of Jim's passing. I will never forget the summers of Connie Mack baseball and fast pitch softball...the travel, the teammates, the tournaments. Thanks for your dedication as coach as teammate, but most of all, as friend. God bless you and keep you, Diamond.

JM and I were classmates together and go back to the Ole AAHS class of "57. I thought he was a very smart and savvy guy both in the sporting world and life.
Because of his connections to the "Big M", even in HS, we used to work the M Basketball
games together. We used to chase "Basketballs" for the referees and had a lot of fun doing it. I agree with the others who
mentioned his great knowledge about sports and also athletic ability. Jm will be missed.

I was sorry to learn from Dough Karsch last night of Jim's passing.  In addition to enjoying listening to him on the radio I got to know by coming to some of the old remote broadcasts TKA had in the area when Doug and Dennis Fithian were with the station.  Jim will be missed by many of us in the local world of sports talk radio and baseball and softball.

Jim and i go way way back. early 20's. i called him dapper jim. he was always "cool" and he knew it. I enjoy the time spent with him. always combed his hair slick. jim it was fun and now enjoy coaching another team in heaven.

A great mentor & friend. It was so great to work with you in Ann Arbor from 1994-2006 at WTKA. The number one star this week goes to you Jim.

I enjoyed listening to Jim & his analysis/evaluations on WTKA. You could disagree with Jim and still respect his opinion. Always a gentleman.

Jim was a great guy and one of the first persons I met when when I started my umpiring career in AA. He became a friend and a mentor and helped me learn more about the game he loved, Fast Pitch Softball. He will be missed. Our prayers are with his family and friends

Sorry to hear about Jim. Jims Parents were real good friends with my Family I think Jim Played for my brother on the Ann Arbor travelers.

Condolences to the Moore family. Jim was my first baseball coach in little league in the late 50's and his Coke teams always competed for titles.  He made the game fun and taught us to play the right way.  Thank you Jim.  Rest in peace.

I first crossed paths with Diamond when i was 9 and he was 12. He was the most feared pitcher in the Little Leagues here in Ann Arbor. Jim and I became good friends and teammates for many many years. I felt James B. would live forever so i was shocked when i heard of his passing. I know that Diamond was not comfortable for a few years but i am sure he is now in a comfortable place.God Bless you Jim and thanks so much for your influence in my life.

I am so sorry to hear of Jim's death. A fine and gentle man with a wonderful sense of humor and knowledge of sports. I gave him his break in Ann Arbor sports radio in the early 1980's and it sure paid of for me and our listeners. He mentored me on U-M sports and its rich tradition. We shared many broadcasts from Crisler Arena and I learned from his love of the game. I was better at my job because of Jim. May he rest in peace.

I grew up with Jim going to Jones School and Ann Arbor High.  Lost touch with him after I went into the Air Force in 1957.  Still have a lot of good memories of our younger years.

Sorry to hear of the passing of Diamond.  He put his heart into his fast pitch teams for many years.  May God bless the family and all who knew him.

My condolences to Diamond Jim's family and close friends. He was a very classy individual with loads of sports knowledge. He did a lot for the game of fast-pitch softball, in Michigan and across the USA/Canada.

Sorry to hear of Jim's passing. I was fortunate to know Diamond from the Ann Arbor fastball days when I was with Sarnia. In the later years as member of the Midland Explorers we had great success under his mentorship. My thoughts are with his family and friends of all the great memories I'll have of knowing James.

I just wanted to express my sincere condolences to the Moore family on Jim`s passing. My husband Gary played softball with him in their early years. Gary would always chuckle if he just thought about him ! He considered him a friend.

My sincerest condolences to the Moore family. Jim was one of my coaches when I played for the Explorers in the early 90's. He was a great person, and a wonderful man. I was very fortunate and grateful to have him as a teammate and mentor. He was a great help to me, taught me how to be a better player, but more importantly a better person. Charlie Hendricks

As a long-time neighbor of Jim's, I found him to be a very gentle, kind man who loved going for long walks, always taking time to chat and just being a good friend. My condolences to his family,who were at his side through his difficult last days.
