James B Moore, 77, of Ann Arbor, MI passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at the University of Michigan Hospital. Born and raised in Ann Arbor, Jim was the son of Bert and Esther Moore. Jim was known for his accomplishments on the ball field and was known as “Diamond Jim” to his many friends, teammates and players. Jim was a great player himself, but also a coach, manager and mentor to his players. He took his teams to many different states and Canada with much success – among them as assistant coach of the 99 Pan Am Team. Jim had several jobs during his lifetime, one as manager of the Elks Club on Main Street of Ann Arbor, but his favorite was undoubtedly when he was on the radio doing color for Michigan basketball and sharing his knowledge of all athletes. Jim served his country in the United States Army.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents and longtime companion, Kathy Dubois. Jim and Kathy were avid Theater fans and enjoyed many live performances. Jim will be missed and is survived by several cousins. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Wastenong Memorial Park, 3117 Whitmore Lake Rd., Ann Arbor, MI 48105.
