We did not have that long to get to know you however we will never forget you lovingly welcoming our Sara-Marie into your family.  Thank you for being such a wonderful example of Grace and Faithfulness to all who knew you.  You will be greatly missed.

I never met you in life but need to thank you now for bringing Bonnie into this world. That was an amazing thing. I'm sure that's not the only miracle you have performed. God Speed Jeanne.


One of my favorite things growing up was going up north to see grandma and grandpa. I would get so excited beforehand that I ended up making myself sick on the ride up every time. The sound of the river, the fresh air and the smell of grandmas cooking was the best. Everyday there were new goodies made. Some days it was cookies or cake but I could always count on her to make me lemon cake because she knew it was my favorite. And anytime she made orange jello salad I got to hear the story on how it was the first thing I tried as a baby and how I loved it, and still love till this day. 

Grandma and I shared a love for miniature dashounds. In fact we shared two of the dogs, Tucker and Rudy.  Most recently grandma took MY dog Tucker when we could no longer have him due to some potty training issues. He did wonderful up north because there were so many trees for him. Although grandma took the credit for "training" him properly.  Before that she took MY Rudy. His only issue was getting into trash, which neither of us broke that bad habit. We used to tease each other about whose dogs they were.  Of course being the good grand daughter I was I let her think they were hers just to make her happy. 

Grandma used to come to moms every year for Christmas and my birthday. And the first thing I would do was find the fudge. Grandma made the best peanut butter fudge ever. Must have been from living next to so many great fudge places. She made a huge batch every year just for me. I wasn't supposed to eat it until my birthday (which is the 27th) but that never worked. In fact I think most of the time it was gone by my birthday. 

I am going to miss so many things about grandma but I have comfort knowing she passed down some of her greatest traits to me...like snorting when we laugh, or kicking people in the face when they touch our feet (she did this to me). And our love for anything sweet. Grandma was stubborn as an ox and as the generations continued that trait only got stronger. I know I will never forget her because I have so much of her in myself. 

I will miss talking to her on Facetime and telling her to put the screen down because I could only see the top of her head. I teased her about her being old and not knowing how to use technology. We loved seeing each other while talking and she could always see her great grand babies even when I was not with her.  I am glad she got to meet and hold her great grandchildren. And I know she is now watching over us. 

I hope that when grandma got to heaven *our* dog Rudy was waiting there to greet her. And I take comfort in knowing that one day I will have them both waiting there to greet me. 

I will miss my grandmother dearly. But I will treasure her memory forever.
