My sympathies to Kate's family.  My memory of Kate is when, as my maid of honor, she helped me choose my wedding gown at R. H. Stearns in Boston.  The entire process took less than an hour!

Kate leaves a giant hole in my life in so many ways. I cannot begin to explain the depth of her wisdom and advice that she has given me over the many years I have known her. She counseled me through many difficult times as President of St. Nicholas, and was always there to run things by whenever it was needed. We are blessed as a community to have had her with us for so long, and I am blessed and enriched for having known her. Now, instead of just picking up the phone and calling her, I will have to close my eyes and remember her, and she will speak to me through the many memories I have with sweet Kate.  I miss you terribly. I will remember you always, and forget you never. AONIA IMNIMNI AFTIS...Everlasting be her memory.

I was so shocked and saddened to learn of Kate's passing.  I enjoyed stopping in the St. Nick's office to chat and will miss her warm and friendly conversation.  She really was a lovely person.  Deepest sympathy to the Hazelton family.

Mom, you are truly missed.  There were times when I just took for granted that you would always be there to answer a question, to laugh with, to talk politics and about the news.  To talk about kids and grandkids and family, sharing memories and jokes.  We had good times and bad and I'm glad your persistance has helped me make better decisions about doing the right things.  Since you have passed I've learned more about you and what a giver you were, something I aIready knew but didn't realize the total extent of.  Everyone I've talked to who knew you tells me of how much you will be missed.  In my heart I knew that the day you passed.  The last few years I knew this would come someday and I wondered how it might happen and I am grateful that you prayed everday because your wish came true to pass in your sleep.  I'm glad I got to tell you I love you and hug you at least a couple times each week.  I hope all your thoughts on how heaven is are coming true too.  I know here that you will have no more worries and fears or aches and pains and I am grateful for that too.  But most of all I'm glad I gave you a big hug when I last saw you. The Uproar team would like to  extend our deepest sympathy to the Hazelton family. We knew and admired Kate as a professional who could toss six balls in the air, answer a phone call or two, get you a cup of coffee and catch each one of those balls without a miss. She could dependably edit a piece, critique a layout and produce a newsletter as though it was as easy as tossing the balls. Her sense of humor was heartwarming as was a memory that did not miss a beat. She knew names. She knew history. She was a delight and we are saddened that St. Nick's has lost the newsletter editor and chief and a dear friend as well. With appreciative smiles on our faces, we say goodbye to Kate.

Kate was a rock and a refuge in my younger years -- she was a wonderful listener and a great advisor.  I am terribly sad to hear of her passing.

We have been so lucky to have Kate so many years at our St. Nicholas church.  She has been such a warm and caring person for our parish, and she will be missed. Our sympathy to her whole family.

We will miss her great smile and friendly attitude. We are so glad she got to spend time with her (and our) newest grand child, Jason. We shall all miss her.  Our sympathy goes out to all the Hazelton Family.
