Kenneth Michael Cobb, cherished husband, loving father, grandfather, brother and friend to everyone who met him, died Saturday, June 21. He was born in Detroit to Wayne and Esther Cobb and lived in Michigan with the exception of college and military service. Ken was the love of her life and soul mate to his wife of 33 years, Betty. They enjoyed adventures, trips, camping, golfing, anything and everything as long as it was together. They enjoyed a glass of champagne everywhere they went and especially on their deck overlooking the eighth hole at the golf course where they lived.
Ken was a loving father to his daughter Rebecca Carter (Jeff), his son Michael Cobb (Malinda) and proud grandfather to Parker Boyle, Riley Boyle, and Cooper Cobb. He was the best big brother to his sister Patricia AlFaiz (Brahim) and his sister Beverly Aaltonen who predeceased him. He was the best kitty dad to Jacques and Gigi. He loved them and they loved him right back as you would expect.
He attended Michigan State University, Oregon State University, Utah State University and the University of Michigan where he earned a Master's degree. Ken loved his 38 years as a landscape architect at JJR in Ann Arbor. Ken was known for projects and design creations throughout the country and around the world that will forever increase the enjoyment of life for the millions of people who are lucky enough to experience what he created.
In addition, he loved photography not only of projects, but also of wildlife and nature in all its glory: animals, parks, mountains, rivers, lakes, woods, marshes, the sky, clouds, rain, sun and snow. He loved hiking, skiing, golfing, swimming, running, cycling and everything outside. He was one of a kind, loved by all who knew him, and is irreplaceable. He touched everyone he knew who will forever have a piece of him in his or her heart.
A celebration of the great life that was Ken will take place in July.
