

January 29, 1932 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama God blessed Vertigo Thomas and Susie Mae Nevels-Thomas with a baby girl, whom they named Laura Mae Thomas. Laura confessed Christ at an early age. After graduating from Druid High School she married Lee Andrew Pee Sr. and one child was born before leaving Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Laura and Lee moved to Ann Arbor, Michigan, which later came five more boys. Laura was very family oriented and had a kind heart and words for everyone. She joined Bethel A.M.E church under the leadership of Reverend John A. Woods, where she served faithfully as a Trustee Helper. Before her health began to fell she was under the leadership of Reverend Joseph Cousins. Laura passed away early Monday morning at University of Michigan with her loving and caring family by her side. Laura was preceded in death by the father of her children: Lee Andrew Pee, Sr. Father and Mother Vertigo and Susie Mae Thomas, Brothers James, Arthur and Dave Thomas, two sons Lee Andrew and Montie Eugene Pee, and one Great Grandchild, Dalan Pitchford. Cherishing her memories is sons Jeffery Lynn Pee, Michael Anthony (Diana) Pee of Atlanta, Georgia; Gregory Leon (Emily) Pee, and Byron Keith (Naomi) Pee; daughter-in-laws Valarie Pee; Wendy Pee of Columbus, Ohio; Susan Baskett; Ruby and Brenda L. Pee. One brother Henry (Lucy) Thomas of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, one sister Annie Fulbright of Ann Arbor; sister-in-laws Susie Thomas of Gaston, Alabama; Willa Mae and Ollie Thomas of Tuscaloosa, Alabama; two uncles Tommie and Tony Nevels of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, two aunts Vastia Hicks and Elnora Jackson of Tuscaloosa, Alabama; and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews. Also, cherishing her memories two very special employers and friends Bob and Marina Whitman. The family will receive friends on Monday, May 23rd. from 2-8pm at the Muehlig Funeral Chapel, Ann Arbor. The family hour will be held on Tuesday from 10:00 until time of service at 11:00 at the Bethel AME Church, Ann Arbor, the Rev. Dr. Joseph Cousin presiding. Burial in United Memoril Gardens Cemetery.
